Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra established the Safa Islamic Schools to provide religious education and training for fostering personality development and imparting religious teachings to the younger generation in response to the demands of Islam and the contemporary situation. Jamaat is trying to impart education to children, adults, and women in Islamic studies through the establishment of ideal makatib (schools).
In line with this initiative, a one-day awareness and training workshop was organized by the Safa Islamic Schools on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Tauheed Mosque, Wehdat Nagar, Amravati. The workshop was aimed at school teachers and representatives from the local Muslim community. A total of 90 male teachers and 40 female teachers, hailing from various districts of North Maharashtra took part in this workshop.
Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Khan, Patron of Safa Islamic Schools, Maharashtra, gave the inaugural address about the group’s curriculum and objectives. During his presentation, he emphasized the significance and need of these schools, elaborating its objectives and providing a comprehensive overview of the distinctive features of the Safa Islamic Schools’ curriculum.
Maulana Muhammad Inamullah Falahi, Convener, Part-time Schools at the Markazi Taleemi Board, New Delhi delved into the topic of Qualities and Roles of School Teachers. He provided a comprehensive exposition of the attributes and responsibilities required for teaching.
Maulana Akhtar-ul-Islam Nadvi, Convener Safa Islamic Schools, Maharashtra anchored a panel discussion on the topic “Teaching Methodologies and School Management”. He guided the participants by sharing insights and recommendations on the topics outlined by the learned panelists.
In the final session, the delegates presented lessons on the exemplary teaching skills required for the education and training of students. They highlighted various methods like (1) collective teaching (2) multi-group teaching (3) understanding the Qur’an (4) recitation of the Qur’an (5) observation and interpretation (6) storytelling, and (7) use of educational resources.
Maulana Ilyas Khan Falahi delivered the concluding address. Qazi Laeeq Ahmad, Caretaker Safa Islamic Schools extended vote of thanks. The program was convened by Maulana Abdul Majeed Nadvi, Coordinator, Safa Islamic Schools, Maharashtra.
