Bengaluru: The Dafter Halqa (Zonal office) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka, was recently honoured by the visit of the Sajjada Nasheen of Ajmer Shareef Dargah, Hazrat Maulana Syed Sarwar Chishti. His presence was warmly welcomed by JIH Zonal Secretary Yousuf Kanni, along with members from Masjid Alaa, Rahmat Nagar Jamia Masjid, and local community representatives.
JIH Karnataka President, Dr. Mohammed Saad Belgami, introduced the guest to the ongoing work of JIH Karnataka in the fields of education, publications, and social service. Special mention was made of initiatives like Sanmarga, Anupama, and the residential Jamia-tut-Taibaat here in the city.
In his address, Hazrat Sarwar Chishti spoke with concern about the situation in Gaza, highlighting the suffering of the people and the silence of the global community. He emphasised that Indian Muslims need better access to quality education, especially in the field of law, so that they can protect their rights and work for justice. Speaking about Waqf, he pointed out that this issue has helped bring Muslims together on a single platform, and it should be used to strengthen unity.
Appreciating Jamaat’s efforts, Hazrat Sarwar Chishti encouraged it to expand its outreach beyond its present circles and engage with wider sections of the community. He was presented with a shawl and a token of respect as a gesture of appreciation.
The visit left a positive impact on all who attended, with a shared sense of responsibility and hope for greater unity and awareness in the community.
