The South Asian Minorities Lawyers Association (SAMLA) has issued a strong condemnation of the devastating bomb blast that rocked Delhi, describing the incident as a “cowardly and inhuman act of terror” that has inflicted deep sorrow on families across the country.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, SAMLA expressed profound grief over the loss of innocent lives and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. “We pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls and for the speedy and complete recovery of those injured,” the statement read.
Calling for decisive action, the association urged the government and investigative agencies to ensure a “thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation” into the attack. SAMLA emphasized that justice must be delivered without prejudice or haste, and stressed the importance of adequate compensation for the bereaved families who have suffered an “irreparable loss.”
The organisation also appealed to public figures and media professionals to act with sensitivity and responsibility during this period of national mourning. SAMLA warned that provocative comments or any attempt to exploit the tragedy for communal gain would only worsen societal wounds. It demanded strict legal action against individuals or groups attempting to spread hatred or malign any community under the guise of the incident.
“At a time of collective grief, divisive narratives can endanger social harmony,” the statement cautioned, urging citizens to come together in solidarity.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace and justice, SAMLA called upon the nation to transcend barriers of religion, caste, and politics. “Violence and hatred have no place in a civilized society,” the association noted, adding that unity and compassion are essential to overcoming such dark moments.
The statement was issued by Advocate Feroz Khan Ghazi, Secretary General of SAMLA, who reiterated the organisation’s pledge to stand by the victims and uphold constitutional values during this challenging time.
