Nanded: Students from Sana International School and Sana Urdu High School have excelled in the Divisional Rifle Shooting Championship held in Latur, earning medals and qualifying for the Maharashtra State-level competition to be held in Nagpur. The event, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Maharashtra, and the Latur District Sports Council, saw outstanding performances from several young marksmen and markswomen.
In the Air Pistol under-14 category, Ayesha Imaan won the gold medal, while Ruda Sharmin secured bronze. In the Air Rifle category, Sehrish Fatima claimed silver and Fiza Noor bronze. In the under-17 category, Rida Tahreem took gold. From Sana Urdu High School, Tahoora Armeen and Ameena Firdaus earned bronze in the under-14 and under-19 rifle events respectively, while Mirza Sheeza won silver in pistol shooting. Shaikh Rafe finished second in the under-17 pistol category.
A felicitation ceremony was held at Sana International School to honor the achievers. Principal Lubna Nazia Shaikh, sports teachers Mohammed Najeebuddin and Marif Sir, and other faculty congratulated the students and wished them success at the next level.
Students expressed gratitude to their coaches and parents for their support, with several sharing their dreams of representing India at the national and international levels. School officials credited the students’ success to their discipline and determination, while parents and teachers praised the growing spirit of sportsmanship within the community.
