Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Aggression on Iran, Calls for De-escalation

Istanbul – In a significant development amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned Israel’s recent military strikes against Iran, calling them a blatant violation of international law and regional peace.
Speaking at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting held in Istanbul on Friday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan denounced the “blatant Israeli aggressions against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” stating they “undermine Iran’s sovereignty and security, and threaten the stability of the entire region.”
The Saudi Press Agency reported that Prince Faisal called for an “immediate cessation of military operations,” urged all parties to “avoid escalation,” and stressed the importance of resuming negotiations between Iran and the international community.
The condemnation comes as Iran and Saudi Arabia continue to strengthen their diplomatic ties after years of regional rivalry. Riyadh’s swift public support for Tehran following Israel’s surprise barrage of strikes on Iran last week underscores a shift in the Kingdom’s foreign policy posture.
Bin Farhan also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He noted that a planned Saudi-French conference on the matter in New York was postponed due to the current escalation between Israel and Iran.
The statement reflects a growing sentiment among OIC member nations to present a unified stance against regional conflicts, particularly those perceived to be driven by external powers undermining the Muslim world’s unity and sovereignty.
