Saudi Arabia Facilitates Return of 65,000 Iranian Pilgrims After Hajj 1446

Riyadh – In a remarkable display of coordination and hospitality, Saudi Arabia has successfully facilitated the return of approximately 65,000 Iranian pilgrims following the conclusion of Hajj 1446. An additional 11,000 pilgrims are scheduled to return to Iran in the coming days, according to official sources, reported the Saudi Gazette.

This large-scale logistical operation was conducted under the royal directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Their leadership underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to ensuring the safety, comfort, and efficient travel of all pilgrims participating in Hajj.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah revealed that more than 2,000 shuttle trips were carried out between Arar Airport and Jadidat Arar Port. Simultaneously, 200 buses operated over 1,500 journeys through Iraqi territory to reach the Iranian border.

To ensure the smooth execution of this complex operation, the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Passports deployed comprehensive support teams. Their efforts contributed significantly to maintaining security and facilitating seamless transit procedures for the departing pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia continues to play a pivotal role in organizing and managing the annual pilgrimage, serving millions of pilgrims from around the world with logistical expertise and religious dedication.
