Saudi Arabia Organizes Arabic Language Month in India

2 July 2024: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) has launched the Arabic Language Month in India, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency. This initiative, which runs until July 26, takes place in New Delhi and Kerala, aiming to enhance Arabic language education among non-native speakers.

The program features a variety of activities designed to develop Arabic language curricula, improve teachers’ performance, and promote a positive image of the language. It also aims to highlight Saudi Arabia’s efforts in this field, aligning with the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program, a key component of Saudi Vision 2030.

Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of the academy, emphasized the importance of this initiative. He noted that it follows the directives of Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Culture, and is part of a broader strategy to promote Arabic language both locally and globally. The program seeks to teach Arabic to non-native speakers, train teachers, and increase their competency, showcasing the Kingdom’s commitment to spreading Arabic language and its sciences worldwide.

The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has previously launched several initiatives, including the Children’s Recitation Challenge and projects to strengthen language policies. These efforts are part of a broader campaign to enhance Arabic language education and promote cultural exchange.

The Arabic Language Month in India not only aims to improve language skills but also fosters cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and India. By investing in education and teacher training, Saudi Arabia continues to play a pivotal role in promoting the Arabic language on an international scale.

This initiative underscores the Kingdom’s dedication to cultural diplomacy and education, reinforcing its position as a global leader in language promotion and cultural exchange.
