Saudi Cabinet Urges Swift Recognition of Palestine, Slams Israeli Moves

JEDDAH – The Saudi Cabinet, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has called for faster global recognition of Palestine. It expressed hope that the peace conference co-hosted by Saudi Arabia and France would boost the two-state solution.
In its Tuesday session held in Jeddah, the Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s stand for regional peace and security, reported the Arabic Times.It condemned the Israeli Knesset’s new proposal to take control of the occupied West Bank and Jordan Valley. The Cabinet said this move threatens peace and breaks international laws and UN resolutions.
Ministers welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron’s plan to recognize Palestine. They urged other nations to do the same and support Palestinian rights.
The Cabinet reviewed global and regional updates. It highlighted Saudi Arabia’s efforts to stop violence and save civilian lives, as wars continue to claim tens of thousands.
In economic matters, the Cabinet praised the Saudi delegation’s visit to Syria. The trip led to 47 investment deals worth SR24 billion ($6.4 billion). A joint Saudi-Syrian business council was also formed.
Ministers discussed Saudi Arabia’s role in the UN High-Level Political Forum. The Kingdom was named the fastest-progressing G20 country in sustainable development, thanks to Vision 2030.
On the environment, the Cabinet noted the launch of a Direct Air Capture (DAC) unit in Riyadh. It marked a major step in Saudi Arabia’s carbon management and support for the Circular Carbon Economy.
The session ended by stressing the Kingdom’s focus on peace, green innovation, and development. Saudi Arabia continues to rise as a leader in diplomacy and technology.
