SDPI Holds Anti-Fascist Protest in Baran

Baran: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Baran organised an anti-fascist protest at Anjuman Chowraha, drawing a large crowd of supporters. The event began with recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Mohammad Zaid, followed by a patriotic song by Mohammad Asfaque.

Key speakers included Maulana Akhtar, Imam of Masjid Barah Bhaiyan, who addressed the historical injustice surrounding Babri Masjid and its significance to the Muslim community. Maulana Masood Alam stressed the role of mosques in promoting peace, combating societal evils, and fostering humanity.

Ahtshamuddin Siddiqui, president of Anjuman Ittehad-e-Bahami, Baran district, highlighted Sections 3-4 of Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991, which prohibits altering the religious nature of places of worship as they stood on August 15, 1947.

SDPI State General Secretary, Nadeem Akhtar, criticised the actions of the ruling fascist forces, accusing them of misusing government agencies, disrupting national harmony, and defying constitutional values. He reaffirmed SDPI’s commitment to protecting the Constitution and safeguarding religious places, including temples and mosques.

Maulana Salman also addressed the gathering, and the programme concluded with a prayer led by Maulana Imtiaz. The event was moderated by State Treasurer Zakir Rangrez.

The protest saw participation from thousands of people, including prominent figures like Shahadat Hussain, Salamat Hussain, Iftikhar Ahmed, Haji Mohammad Asfaque, Alim Mansuri, Haji Waheed, Irshad Ansari, Aslam Ansari (ward councilor), Gulsher Ahmed, Sameer Mirza, Wasim Sheikh, Abid Hussain, and many others.

The gathering emphasised the importance of unity, peace, and resistance against oppression.
