Bhilwara: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) Bhilwara District Committee staged a protest on Wednesday at Information Center Square against the arrest of SDPI National President M.K. Faizi.
SDPI Bhilwara District President Shabbir Qureshi stated that Faizi was arrested by the ED on false money laundering charges, despite the court previously deeming the case weak due to lack of evidence. Faizi had been fully cooperating and was on his way to court with necessary documents when he was arrested.
Qureshi alleged that the BJP government was behind this, as SDPI had launched a nationwide movement against the Waqf Amendment Bill, causing political discomfort. He called Faizi’s arrest an act of political vendetta.
State Committee Member Abdul Razzaq Ansari and Councilor Salim Ansari (Ward No. 49) addressed workers, declaring that protests would continue until Faizi’s release. They expressed hope that he would soon be proven innocent.
Many leaders and supporters attended, including SDPI District General Secretary Iqbal Mansoori, Umar Dabgar, Secretary Salim Mansoori, Treasurer Anwar Mansoori, Committee Member Zakir Mansoori, Sikandar Ali Neelgar, Imran Deshwali, Assembly Secretary Asif Ansari, Vice President Khubeb Ansari, Treasurer Abrar Ansari, former Candidate Abdul Salam Ansari, City President Abid Hussain Sheikh, and Activist Bhura Khan.
