A seminar focusing on the biography of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was recently held at the Qutub-e-Madar IT Centre. Organized by the Seerat Committee Delhi, the seminar addressed the issue of apostasy and its solutions, emphasizing its sensitivity and the need for action.

The session commenced with the recitation of the Quran by Qari Mueenul Islam Qasmi, followed by Dr. Syed Farooq presiding over the event. Naat recitation was presented by Qari Sadaqatullah Mirathi. Maulana Mufti Mohammad Javaid, a prominent scholar from Saharanpur, highlighted the gravity of apostasy, noting its emergence during the time of Hazrat Abu Bakr and the subsequent “Shuddhi Movement” in 1923.

Speakers highlighted the negative influences affecting children, including mixed education and exposure to inappropriate content on social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp. The importance of parental monitoring, particularly by mothers, was emphasized, along with the condemnation of dowry practices.

Mufti Shamim Ahmad Qasim, head of the Department of Religious Studies at Jamia Fazl-e-Uloom and Imam of Masjid al-Quraish Delhi, stressed the significance of the Quran and Sunnah, urging proper education and upbringing to combat apostasy.

Addressing concerns of false information and propaganda, he presented examples of the Uniform Civil Code and the new divorce law, which are spreading false information and propaganda, emphasizing the importance of providing correct education and information, advising monitoring of children’s mobile usage. Dr. Syed Farooq spoke about better behavior and modesty with women, quoting a verse emphasizing divine punishment and favor.

“When Allah wishes to punish a community, He inflicts them with education as a trial, both in wealth and land. And when He wants to favor them, He blesses them with His remembrance.”

The seminar was organized by the Seerat Committee, with Syed Rashed Hussain as Vice President and Abdul Rasheed as President. Mufti Mohammad Javaid concluded the event with a prayer.

The seminar shed light on the importance of understanding the Prophet’s life and combating issues like apostasy through education and vigilance.
