Seminar Highlights the Role of Morality as the Foundation of Freedom

Beawar: A seminar titled “Morality, the Foundation of Freedom” was held at Hotel Vinod here Sunday. The event, jointly organized by the local units of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Sadbhavana Manch, Youth for Ambedkar, Youth Forum, Students Islamic Organization of India, and Girls Islamic Organization, saw participation from various social and religious groups.

Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Yusuf, JIH Rajasthan state secretary, delivered the keynote address as the  chief guest. Emphasizing the need for a morally conscious society, Yusuf said, “True morality lies in understanding the pain and suffering of humanity. When moral values deteriorate, chaos takes hold. We must collectively work to save society from these evils.” He further noted that freedom loses its essence if justice and fairness are absent.

Yusuf informed the audience about Jamaat-e-Islami’s ongoing efforts to address societal challenges through periodic campaigns. He invited other social and religious organizations to join their nationwide morality awareness drive, which he believes is vital for the current times.

Dr. Javed Hussain, who presided over the event, spoke about the importance and urgency of restoring moral values. He highlighted that the campaign has reached approximately 500,000 people in Beawar through personal and group meetings, lectures in schools and colleges, essay competitions, and media engagement.

Rekha Singariya, Vice Principal of Mahatma Gandhi Government Senior Secondary School, Jawaja, noted, “Morality is the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, and this should be ingrained in an individual’s character. A strong moral foundation begins at home.”

Hiba Naz, State Secretary of GIO Rajasthan, stressed that true freedom comes with responsibility, and the realization of that responsibility is the essence of morality. “maintaining a balance between personal freedom and social responsibility is crucial.”

Dr. Anjana Rathi, a gynecologist at Rathi Hospital, noted that moral education starts at home. Parents play a pivotal role in teaching their children about morality from a young age. She stressed the importance of using social media wisely, urging caution in forwarding rumors and negative content.

Prabhakar Bharti from Youth for Ambedkar emphasized that children absorb most of their life’s moral lessons by the age of seven or eight. Therefore, early moral education is essential.

Social worker Kalpana Bhatnagar warned that freedom without morality leads to fear and disorder in society.

Sister Renu from the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya Beawar, noted that a child’s moral character is shaped by the environment at home, emphasizing that the family’s values are reflected in the child’s behavior.

Saradara Kathat, treasurer of Rajasthan Cheetah Meharat Kathat Mahasabha, pointed out that nations prosper when they adhere to the moral teachings of the prophets, while those that abandon such teachings face ruin. He stressed that moral education is essential for societal success.

Muhammad Hanif Shoragar, joint secretary of Rajputana Muhammad Ali Memorial Trust Society, remarked that true societal change can only occur when individuals practice moral values and maintain good company.

Chhagaram Singariya, Deputy Director of the GPF Office, underscored the importance of reading and understanding the constitution as a guide to morality. He also recited a poem on the constitution.

Bharat Bhatti, president of New All Rajasthan School Association, and Jitendra Arora, director of Pushp Taj School, also shared their thoughts. The event was attended by numerous dignitaries and women from various communities and faiths. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ramesh Yadav, convener of Sadbhavana Manch Beawar.
