Seven Israeli Soldiers Killed in Gaza Ambush by Palestinian Resistance Fighters

In a powerful response to the ongoing Israeli onslaught on Gaza, Palestinian resistance fighters dealt a major blow to the Israeli military on Tuesday, killing seven Israeli soldiers in an operation carried out in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
The Israeli army confirmed that an armoured vehicle was struck by a powerful explosive, resulting in the death of seven occupying soldiers. The names of six have been released, while the identity of one is still withheld.
This marks one of the heaviest losses for the Israeli forces in Gaza, where more than 860 Israeli soldiers have been eliminated since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023. Over 400 of them have died in direct confrontations inside Gaza—a land they continue to occupy in defiance of international law.
The daring operation was claimed by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, who announced via Telegram that they had ambushed a group of Israeli soldiers taking shelter inside a residential building. The fighters launched a Yassin 105 missile, followed by another missile, and then opened fire with machine guns, causing heavy casualties.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, composed of determined Palestinian youth, continue to resist the Israeli occupation despite enormous odds. Their resilience under siege and bombardment reflects the unwavering spirit of a people defending their homeland.
While Israel continues its brutal aggression, Palestinian deaths have crossed 56,000, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. More than half of these martyrs are women and children, slaughtered in Israeli airstrikes and indiscriminate attacks on civilian neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, and refugee camps.
Since Israel resumed its genocidal assault on March 18, breaking a short-lived ceasefire, at least 5,759 more Palestinians have been killed. The figures do not account for thousands still buried under rubble.
Israel justifies its actions by claiming to target “militants,” yet has produced no credible evidence for its claim that over 20,000 Hamas fighters have been killed. In contrast, the scenes on the ground—mangled bodies of children, grieving families, and leveled neighborhoods—tell a story of war crimes and collective punishment.
On Wednesday, another grim incident occurred as a Palestinian woman from East Jerusalem died at an Israeli checkpoint. She was found with serious “penetrating injuries,” and her death is under investigation. Such cases have become disturbingly common, with Israeli forces treating every Palestinian as a suspect, often shooting first and refusing medical attention.
East Jerusalem remains under illegal Israeli occupation since 1967. Palestinians continue to demand their right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital—a right recognized by international law but denied by the Zionist regime.
The resistance in Gaza stands as a symbol of the Palestinian people’s will to live with dignity and freedom. Despite bombs and blockade, their fight continues—for justice, for liberation, and for Palestine.
