– Mohammed Atherulla Shariff

Bengaluru, March 28: Shaheen Group of Institutions has announced the launch of its groundbreaking program, Madrasa Plus. The initiative aims to integrate Madrasa-educated students into mainstream education by providing them with a tailored curriculum, bridge courses, and personalized teaching sessions.

Dr. Abdul Qadeer, Chairman of Shaheen Group of Institutions, made the announcement during an Iftar Get-Together and Discussion on Modern Education in Madrasas held at BIFT Hall here. He announced the launch of Madrasa Plus, which is set to be implemented in collaboration with the Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka, across 100 Madrasas in Karnataka.

Madrasa Plus is designed to offer quality residential facilities, nutritious meals, and top-tier education to its participants, ensuring a conducive learning environment. As part of the program, each Madrasa will receive two teachers, online classes, computers, and digital boards. Students enrolled in the program will also be prepared to appear for the Class 10 examinations through the NIOS board, making it a comprehensive two-year initiative.

Dr. Abdul Qadeer highlighted the success of Shaheen’s Academic Intensive Care Unit (AICU), which has been providing education to dropouts and Madrasa graduates for the past 15 years. He emphasized that Madrasa Plus builds upon the achievements of the Hifz Plus program initiated in 2012, which saw students passing Class 12 and qualifying for prestigious exams like CET or NEET within three years.

Currently operational in 51 Madrasas with 2000 students and 203 staff members, Madrasa Plus is poised to expand its impact with the collaboration of the Directorate of Minorities, Government of Karnataka, in 100 Madrasas across the state. To support this expansion, Shaheen Group of Institutions, in collaboration with Maulana Azad National Urdu University, is organizing a campus recruitment drive to hire 200 teachers for the project.

Syed Tanveer Ahmed, Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, and Mr. Ali Shareef from Lifeline Foundation, were also present on the occasion.  Prospective students interested in joining the upcoming batch of Madrasa Plus may access the registration form on Shaheen’s website, www.shaheengroup.org, and www.madrasaplus.org.
