Sharjah Prepares for 44th International Book Fair

Sharjah: The 44th Sharjah International Book Fair is scheduled at Expo Centre Sharjah from November 1 to 12, 2025. Organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, this year’s theme is “In the World of Words.”

The fair will host over 2,000 publishers from more than 100 countries and feature more than 1.5 million titles in multiple languages. Visitors can explore a wide range of literature, including children’s books, cookbooks, comics, and digital publications. The event highlights the growing role of AI in literature and publishing.

In addition to book displays, the fair offers literary discussions, workshops, and cultural programs. Renowned authors, illustrators, and thought leaders will participate, engaging audiences in interactive sessions and book signings. These initiatives aim to promote reading, cultural exchange, and intellectual dialogue across communities.

Special pavilions will showcase children’s literature and niche genres, creating spaces for young readers and enthusiasts. Organizers emphasize the fair’s role in encouraging innovation in publishing and broadening access to knowledge.

Sharjah’s commitment to literacy and education remains central to the fair’s vision. By bringing together global publishers, authors, and readers, the event reinforces the emirate’s reputation as a cultural hub in the region. The fair also serves as a platform for dialogue on literature’s evolving role in the digital age.

Attendees can expect a vibrant mix of cultural engagement, learning opportunities, and exposure to the latest trends in global publishing, making it a key event for literary enthusiasts in the Middle East.
