Sharjeel Imam’s Cousin among 10 Muslim Candidates Selected for Bihar Judicial Service

Patna: Farha Nishat, a cousin of the incarcerated activist Sharjeel Imam, is among the ten Muslim candidates who were recently selected by Bihar Judicial Services (Junior Category). She got eighth rank under the Backward Class category.

A total of 153 candidates were selected for the 32nd Bihar Judicial Service. Four hundred and sixty-three candidates were selected for the interview round and 459 appeared in this round.

Tewnty-eight-year-old Farha is a resident of Kako in Jehanabad district of Bihar. Her father Nishat Akhtar is a retired government servant and her mother Akbari Khatoon is a homemaker.

Farha got her law degree from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur. She worked as a Law Clerk cum Researcher at Supreme Court from 2018 to 2021. She prepared for the judicial service examination through self-study and guidance from family members. She took help from a few institutions for her interview. She said that she needed to study 10 to 12 hours after succeeding in the Prelims.

Among Muslim successful candidates, Tazeen Binte Waheed got selected in the general category and secured 20th rank. Habiba Bukhari got 30th rank in the general category while Saniya Akhtar secured 48th position in the general category.

Sarah Imam got 6th rank under EWS (Economically Weak Section) category.  Under EBC (Extremely Backward Castes) Zeba Manzoor secured the first position. Ghufrana Naz got second, Sheikh Aman Rana 9th and Heena Perween secured 12th position under this category. Md. Shams Raza got 14th position under the Backward Class category.
