New Delhi: Signboards at Akbar Road and Humayun Road were vandalized as miscreants blackened them and pasted posters of Chhatrapati Shivaji, police sources reported on Saturday.
According to officials, the incident occurred after a group of individuals watched the Hindi film Chhava, a period drama based on Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji. Videos circulating on social media showed youth using black spray paint on the signboards and replacing them with Shivaji’s images.
Police teams and civic officials swiftly responded to the act, removing the defacements and restoring the boards. Authorities have launched an investigation and are analyzing CCTV footage to identify those responsible. Law enforcement is closely monitoring the situation to prevent further disturbances and ensure order.
