New Delhi: An-Noor Literature Festival is being organised at the campus of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind here, from December 20 to 22, 2024. As the name suggests, it is a celebration – not just any celebration, but a festival of literature. A celebration of the kind of literature that is missing among today’s youth. Today’s college and university students are far removed from literature, building a new world of their own. This three-day programme organised by the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) aims to reconnect not only the general public but also students with the essence of literature. The purpose of naming this festival “An-Noor” is to illuminate people’s future lives with light.
This three-day programme will feature four parallel stages, three exhibitions, over 20 stalls, more than 40 sessions, over 120 speakers, and more than 2,000 delegates.
Additionally, the event will include art installations, exhibitions, a book festival, film and documentary screenings, poetry and storytelling sessions, conversations with experts, workshops, lectures, discussions, academic sessions, and special open-mic sessions for individuals who want to share their voices with the public.
An-Noor Literature Festival stands out because it highlights Islamic art, culture, and civilization through this three-day programme. It promotes reading, encourages critical thinking, and facilitates meaningful dialogue on philosophy, literature, culture, and society. The festival inspires creativity and fosters diverse perspectives.
This three-day festival will not only host Islamic scholars and writers but also invite guests from various backgrounds, including professors, journalists, writers, Islamic scholars, student leaders, politicians, political activists, economists, educators, and novelists.
For lovers of Urdu literature, a special resistance-themed poetry recital has been organised. Esteemed poets like Sarfaraz Bazmi, Dr. Wahid Nazir, Dr. Khalid Mubashir, Israr Razi, Irshad Mazhari, Anas Nabeel, and Safar Naqvi will be present.
The chief guest, Maqsood Anwar Maqsood, will join the event from Doha, Qatar.
An-Noor Literature Festival will not only be a blend of knowledge and entertainment but also provide a unique opportunity to express your thoughts and learn from others through this three-day festival.
