SIO Calls for Overhaul of Education System, Minister’s Resignation

New Delhi, June 25: The NEET examination has sparked widespread debate. Amid allegations of a paper leak and the subsequent postponement of NEET PG and CSIR NET exams, there has been a growing outcry against the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Education Ministry.

The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has condemned the state of education in the country. “STOP THE MOCKERY OF EDUCATION,” the SIO statement read, criticizing the government’s handling of educational matters. It pointed to rampant paper leaks, sudden exam postponements, and what it sees as a general neglect of student welfare as evidence of a deep-seated crisis. These issues, according to the organization, have led to significant mental stress, financial losses, and logistical challenges for students, particularly with exams like NEET PG and CSIR NET being postponed just a day before their scheduled dates.

SIO argues that despite new laws intended to prevent paper leaks, the examination system’s integrity remains compromised. In response, the organization has demanded the resignation of the Education Minister and the dismantling of the NTA. They also call for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the paper leaks and a comprehensive restructuring of the educational system. SIO advocates for a decentralized approach, promoting federalism, public sector expansion in education, and policies focused on student welfare.

Highlighting the critical issues of paper leaks, last-minute postponements, and the resulting mental and financial strain on students, SIO has launched a campaign titled #ScrapNTA and #EducationMinisterMustResign. They have urged students, influencers, and socio-political organizations to join this campaign, scheduled for June 25, at 7 PM, aiming to amplify the voices of students and the broader public.
