SIO Gujarat Calls for Boycott of Israeli Products

Ahmedabad, April 7: On Friday, the world witnessed Al-Quds Day, and SIO called upon its workers to celebrate across India. SIO Gujarat has called for a boycott of Israeli products in protest against the ongoing Israeli occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

On the last Friday of Ramadan, observing Yaum Al-Quds, Javed Qureshi, State President of SIO Gujarat, and Vaseef Hussain, Secretary Halqa, JIH Gujarat, along with other SIO and JIH leaders, released posters advocating for the boycott of Israeli products.

Speaking on the occasion, Javed Qureshi passionately stated that the boycott serves as a powerful protest against the unjust policies of the Israeli government towards the Palestinian people, who are enduring a “belligerent occupation,” a flagrant violation of international human rights standards. The organization has urged all consumers to be discerning in their purchases and to opt for alternatives that do not support oppressive regimes.

Javed further emphasized that SIO provided a meticulously curated list of specific Israeli products that are subject to the ‘Selective Boycott,’ as part of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movement. This comprehensive list encompasses various categories, including beverages, snacks, food chains, and groceries. They underscored the complicity of these brands in perpetuating the ongoing genocide, as they openly endorse the brutal persecution of Palestinians and provide financial backing to the state of Israel.
