New Delhi: The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India has launched a nationwide campaign titled Haya is Life: Meaning, Morality and Tranquillity, aiming to promote modesty and ethical consciousness among youth. The campaign was inaugurated at the Press Club of India and will continue until November 10, 2025.
SIO leaders described haya—a concept of modesty and moral restraint—as a universal human value that transcends religion. They said the campaign responds to growing concerns about sexual immorality, objectification, and cultural erosion in society. The movement seeks to revive moral awareness and restore balance in public behavior and media culture.
The organisation plans to reach students and communities through seminars, panel discussions, social media drives, and campus-level activities. It also aims to engage educational institutions and civic groups to encourage dialogue on dignity, emotional well-being, and responsible self-expression.
SIO representatives stated that the campaign is not about restriction but about reviving self-respect and accountability. They said haya nurtures personal integrity and social harmony. The initiative’s focus on education and engagement reflects the group’s belief that youth-driven efforts can influence cultural attitudes and reshape social values in India’s diverse environment.
