Hyderabad, March 31: SIO Hyderabad hosted an Iftar gathering for members of the media fraternity on Mar 29. The event served as an opportunity to foster community bonds and engage in meaningful discussions on various pertinent issues.
The Iftar gathering brought together journalists, reporters, and media professionals from across the region.
Dignitaries attending the iftar included Fazil Hussain Parwez (Editor-in-Chief, Gawah Urdu weekly), Syed Jafar Hussain (Editor, Sadaye Husaini), Hamid Mohammad Khan (Founding Member, SIO), Faraz Ahmed (State Secretary, SIO Telangana), and Hafiz Hammaduddin (City President, SIO Hyd).
During the event, representatives from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) and SIO engaged in fruitful discussions with members of the media fraternity on a range of important topics impacting our society today.
Hamid Mohammad Khan emphasized the importance of Ramadan and the role of media in nation-building. Media plays a vital role in manufacturing content and should be the torchbearer of truth and voice of the voiceless.
Faraz Ahmed emphasized the importance of students being motivated towards the profession of journalism and its significance. He also explained the campaign to boycott selective Israeli products in support of Palestinians and highlighted the student manifesto for the upcoming general elections. These discussions aimed to foster greater understanding, collaboration, and awareness of various important issues.
The gathering concluded with short speeches from the guests and a vote of thanks from Hafiz Hammaduddin.
Hammaduddin said SIO Hyderabad remains committed to its mission of guiding students and youth towards building a better society. Events like the Iftar gathering exemplify its dedication to fostering dialogue, collaboration, and positive change within the community.
