Hyderabad: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Telangana Zone, has issued a clarion call against the recent escalation in West Asia, expressing its profound grief and categorical condemnation following the assassination of Imam Ali Hosseini Khamenei. In a targeted strike by the US-Israel axis, which tragically claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent school children, the world has witnessed a chilling disregard for the sanctity of human life and the established protocols of international diplomacy.
In a formal demonstration of solidarity, a high-level delegation led by SIO Telangana State President, Mohd Faraz Ahmed, alongside State Secretary Mohd Hammaduddin, and Hyderabad City President Mohd Sohail Rizwan, called upon the Deputy Consul General of Iran in Hyderabad. The delegation conveyed the deep-seated sympathies of the student community to the bereaved families and the Iranian nation, acknowledging the immense gravity of this loss.
The SIO views these targeted strikes not merely as a military manoeuvre, but as a manifestation of imperialist overreach. By targeting civilian infrastructure and eminent scientific figures, the aggressors have bypassed the framework of international law, setting a dangerous precedent that undermines the sovereignty of independent nations. The loss of young, innocent lives in educational institutions is a dark milestone in this conflict that should stir the conscience of the global community.
India and Iran are bound by more than just modern diplomacy; they share a profound civilizational and cultural tapestry. “As responsible citizens of a democratic India, the SIO reaffirms that our ties with the Iranian people remain steadfast. In this hour of geopolitical volatility, we believe it is the moral duty of the youth to speak out against state-led anarchy and the erosion of human rights,” the organisation said.
The SIO maintained that state-sponsored assassinations and military aggression are never the precursors to peace. True stability in the region can only be harvested through adherence to diplomatic channels rather than unilateral violence, respect for the territorial integrity of nations under international frameworks, and an immediate cessation of hostilities that target non-combatants and children.
“History bears witness that violence only begets further cycles of retribution. We call for an immediate de-escalation and urge the international community to prioritise justice over geopolitics, SIO Telangana concluded.
