Hyderabad, April 13: Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) Telangana held demonstrations to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and to condemn the ongoing violence in the region.
The demonstrations were held on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr in Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar and other cities in Telangana.
The SIO called for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine and for a just resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and appealed to people to boycott Israeli products. The demonstration also included wearing the keffiyah and highlighted the human rights violations that are being committed against the Palestinian people.
Mohammed Faraz Ahmed, State Secretary, SIO Telangana said, “Eid is a blessed time for unity, resilience, and solidarity. An Eid to express solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters by wearing Keffiyah.”
The Keffiyah with symbols of fishnets, bold lines representing the trade routes, and olive leaves representing the history of Palestinians, defines the Palestinian resistance.
In these modern times, art that represents the culture of Palestinian people becomes a symbol of resistance, solidarity and brotherhood.
