SIO Telangana Organize Protest In Support of Palestine

Hyderabad: Hundreds of people gathered at Charminar on August 22 to demonstrate in support of Palestinians and to condemn the ongoing war in Gaza. The protest was organised by the Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of Telangana. Participants accused Israel of committing genocide, imposing starvation, and carrying out systematic violence.

Protesters held placards and raised slogans demanding an immediate ceasefire. They also called for unrestricted humanitarian aid and accountability for war crimes.

Addressing the gathering, Mohd. Faraz Ahmed, State President of SIO Telangana, criticised the silence of world powers. He urged the Government of India to take a principled stand, reminding it of the country’s historic support for an independent Palestinian state. “All countries, including India, should immediately halt the export of arms and military support to Israel,” he said.

Ahmed also appealed to citizens to take responsibility. He urged people to raise awareness, boycott Israel-linked products, and support the Palestinian cause in practical ways. “The world cannot remain silent while Gaza faces starvation and mass killings. It is our moral duty to respond through protest, boycott, and prayer,” he stated.

The protest ended with an appeal for continued peaceful advocacy and prayers for the people of Palestine. SIO Telangana pledged to continue its campaign until justice and accountability are ensured.
