Kolkata, Jan. 28: A Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) West Bengal delegation met with the administration of West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission (WB-MSC) today at Bikash Bhavan regarding scheduling of the upcoming Primary and Upper Primary Arabic and Theology Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam.
The delegation raised alarm over the clash between the TET exam, scheduled for January 28, and the Sub-Inspector recruitment prelims exam conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WB-PRB), also slated for the same date. Despite the WB-PRB exam being announced earlier, the WB-MSC published a notification just 10 days prior, setting the TET exam for this day.
This overlap poses a significant challenge for candidates who have applied for both examinations, leading to logistical hurdles and potential conflicts. Recognizing the predicament faced by numerous job-seekers, SIO West Bengal has formally petitioned the WB-MSC to postpone the Primary and Upper Primary Arabic and Theology TET exams.
Said Mamun, SIO-WB President stated, “Scheduling two exams on the same day will crumble the dreams of many youths. Rescheduling the WB-MSC TET exam will ensure a fair opportunity for all aspirants to appear in both examinations without compromising their performance.”
The delegation led by Gazi Taufiq Islam, SIO-WB PR and Media Secretary, also included Safikul Islam Mondal, SIO-WB ZAC Member, and Sk Asraul, Departmental Secretary, SIO East Midnapore.
