In the politics of Bengal once again there is a controversy about Naushad Siddiqui and his party ISF. This time Naushad Siddiqui was not allowed to go to Purulia; he was stopped on the way.
ISF MLA Naushad Siddiqui faced hurdles on his way to the event in Purulia. He was going to attend the program here. He had to face police hurdles before reaching Aghorpur.
The ISF MLA was also seen arguing with the police for some time. Police claim that Naushad has been forbidden from going to that area so that the law and order situation in the area does not deteriorate.
Incidentally, the situation here has been tense for the last few days. A situation of conflict has arisen between the local residents and the police administration regarding the construction of an industrial estate here.
Several women have reportedly already been arrested. Naushad was coming to Aghorpur to meet the family members of those women. But the police claim that if Naushad goes to Aghorpur in the present situation in the area, the law and order situation may deteriorate again. That is why the road was barricaded even before his car entered here.
Naushad has claimed that the police could not stop him. He also raised slogans against the police. He alleged that they were targeted in the train by which they were coming to Purulia. When they boarded the Purulia Super-Fast Express train, they were attacked with bricks in the train.
Indian Secular Front (ISF) is a new party in Bengal. In the Bengal Assembly elections, the party had won only one seat with Naushad Siddiqui winning as MLA. After the assembly election, ISF gave full strength in the panchayat election. ISF did not get much success, but it registered its presence and won many seats.
The Left has alliance with ISF. It wants to regain its lost political power in Bengal politics. Since its inception, ISF has always been in the limelight of Bengal politics and TMC must be worried that ISF may dominate the Muslim vote bank.
