SKSSF Andaman Marks 75th Vanmahotsav with Tree Planting, Unveils Lifesaving Free Ambulance Service

Wimberlygunj, July 9: The SKSSF Andaman State Committee, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Forests, recently held the 75th Vanmahotsav Celebration, featuring a ceremonial tree planting at the Primary Health Centre here. This event was designed to foster environmental awareness and promote conservation efforts within the region.

Ashwin J Parihar, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer of South Andaman, attended as the Guest of Honour and highlighted the critical importance of sustainable practices and community engagement in protecting our natural resources.

MK Mohammed Shahid, Secretary of SKSSF Andaman, stated, “In honor of Van Mahotsav, the SKSSF Andaman team conducted a simultaneous plantation drive across all 10 units, planting a total of 200 saplings. As believers, it is our duty to contribute to maintaining the balance in Allah’s creation in any way we can.”

In another significant event, the SKSSF Mannarghat unit launched a free ambulance service named the “Vathiyadathil Abdulla Memorial” in honor of the late Abdulla Kaka. This initiative emerged from the unit’s awareness of the suffering caused by delayed medical attention and the pressing need for a reliable transportation service to ensure timely medical care.

PV Abdul Razak, President of SKSSF Mannarghat Unit, stated, “Our team recognized the necessity for a dependable and prompt transportation facility to connect patients with medical care. Thanks to the generosity of V Mohammed Ashraf, a philanthropist from Wright Myo, this vision has now become a reality.”

The ambulance, fully equipped and staffed by trained SKSSF volunteers, will operate around the clock, providing free transportation to those in need. This initiative is expected to significantly improve healthcare access in the region. The Vathiyadathil Abdulla Memorial ambulance stands as a lasting tribute to Abdulla Kaka’s legacy and exemplifies the profound impact of generosity and community service.
