New Delhi : The Socialist Party (India) has called for a judicial investigation into the suspicious deaths of three tribal youth in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The youth, who went missing on February 13, were later found under mysterious circumstances. While the bodies of Showkat Ahmed Bajad and Reyaz Ahmed Bajad were recovered, Mukhtar Ahmed remains missing. Their families have demanded an impartial probe, alleging the possible involvement of security forces in the deaths.
Dr. Sandeep Pandey, General Secretary of the Socialist Party (India), has strongly criticized the police action against protesters who were demanding a judicial inquiry. Reports indicate that the police resorted to excessive force, with a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) seen kicking women demonstrators. Despite public outrage, no action has been taken against the officer involved.
The Socialist Party (India) has expressed deep concern over recurring incidents of extrajudicial killings and alleged fake encounters in Kashmir. Dr. Pandey emphasized that only a judicial probe, led by a sitting judge, can ensure justice for the families of the victims.
