South India’s First Azaan Competition to Be Held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Aug 28: Hyderabad will host South India’s first Azaan competition at Masjid Hasan on Balanagar, Bangalore Highway, on Friday, September 13. Organized by MN Research and Educational Foundation, the event will run from 9 am to 9 pm.

The competition invites muezzins skilled in Tajweed from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Participants will compete in two categories: a junior set for ages 5-15 and a senior set for ages 16-35. Out of the initial participants, 25 will advance to the final rounds, with 13 qualifying for the finals where winners will be determined by a panel of judges.

Prizes for the competition include Rs 50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate for the first place, Rs 30,000 and a silver medal for second place, and Rs 15,000 and a bronze medal for third place.

Interested candidates can register by sending a video recording of their Azaan via WhatsApp to (+91) 6302845202, along with their name, age, mobile number, and domicile details till September 6. Selected participants must bring an Aadhar card or valid ID proof to the competition.
