In a heartfelt initiative aimed at strengthening religious unity, the Samajwadi Party (SP) held a ‘Holi-Eid Milan’ programme at its state headquarters in Lucknow on Thursday. The event brought together people from diverse religious backgrounds—Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians—under one roof, creating a vibrant atmosphere of communal harmony and mutual respect, reported the Deccan Herald.
SP National President Akhilesh Yadav graced the event as chief guest, accompanied by his wife and Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav. In his address, Akhilesh Yadav emphasized the timeless value of India’s Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb, which symbolizes the composite culture that binds the nation. “Brotherhood and harmony are the true strengths of our society,” he stated. “Today’s programme reflects our collective spirit of unity and cultural togetherness.”
The event underscored the party’s continued commitment to inclusive politics and social integration. Leaders and attendees shared sweets, embraced one another, and exchanged warm greetings, setting a powerful example of peaceful coexistence in today’s polarized environment.
The SP’s message was clear: unity in diversity must remain the cornerstone of India’s identity.
