Leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Telangana and Hyderabad city, eminent religious scholars addressed the public meeting held at Eidgah Ujale Shah in Saeedabad on Saturday.

While condemning the Israeli war against Palestinians, the speakers exhorted Muslims to boycott the goods of the United States and Israel. They also requested the Indian government to support the Palestinian cause.

Dr MKM Zafar, Ameer-e-Halqa, JIH Telangana, said while the Muslims are sad over the situation in Gaza, they should not lose heart. Observing that Ummat faced similar situations in the past, he said Almighty Allah always helped the oppressed and this time too Allah will help them.

Stating that Muslims need long-term planning, he said they should present the message of Islam before non-Muslims. He also underlined the need for working among Muslims in the area of education and societal reforms.

Dr Zafar also said that Muslims should participate in activities to serve the people irrespective of the religion to clear the misunderstandings about Islam and Muslims.

Stating that non-Muslims constitute 85 percent of the country’s population, Dr Zafar said that there is a need to explain to them the teachings of Islam.

Former Ameer-e-Halqa Hamid Mohammed Khan, Ameer Amarat-e-Millat-e-Islamia Moulana Mohammed Hussamuddin Saani Jaffer Pasha, Imam and Khateeb of Masjid Teen Posh, Moulana Obaidur Rahman Ather; Moulana Abdul Fatah Sabeeli, Maavin Ameer-e-Halqa JIH Telangana Mohammed Azharuddin, Naazim-e-Shehr Jamaat-e-Islami Dr Mubashir Ahmed and others addressed the meeting.

Moulana Hamid Mohammed Khan was of the view that Muslims should deal an economic blow to Israel and the United States for repression on Palestinians. He said Muslims should boycott western fashion dresses, food items and other products.

He exhorted Arab leaders to give up hypocrisy and support Palestinians. He also questioned the rulers of India for deviating from the policies of Gandhi and Vajpayee to support the Palestinian cause.

Moulana Hussamuddin Saani Jaffer Pasha said though there are more than 56 Muslim countries, their rulers are not raising their voice against Israel’s repression as they are busy serving their personal interests and leading a lavish life.  He urged Muslims to boycott all goods manufactured by the US and Israel.

Moulana Abdul Fatah Sabeeli stressed the need for Muslims to unite on the basis of Kalima. “Israel was a terrorist yesterday and it is a terrorist today,” he said.

Moulana Obaidur Rahman Ather suggested that Qunoot-e-Nazila should be conducted in the current circumstances and Muslims should seek the mercy of Almighty Allah.

Mohammed Azharuddin said it is unfortunate that Muslims countries are merely passing resolutions against Israel’s repression.

Dr Mohammed Mubashir Ahmed stated that 20 lakh people were besieged in Gaza. As many as 6 lakh people are living in refugee camps.

Brother Abdul Hafeez, president SIO Telangana, said Israel has crossed all limits of repression. He said despite being deprived of all the basic amenities, the courage and valour of Palestinians has surprised the world.

The SIO displayed banners and posters on the occasion, condemning the Israeli aggression and highlighting the attachment with Masjid Al-Aqsa.

The SIO had organised a couple of programmes last month in Hyderabad to show solidarity with Palestinians. Gatherings were held at different places in the city on October 22 with the participants raising their voice in support of the cause for “Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

The gatherings, centered on the theme of raising awareness about the ongoing injustices in Palestine, included impactful addresses by key figures, including Dr MKM Zafar, Dr. Prof. Syed Islamuddin Mujahid, and Dr. Abdul Samad Al-Amoodi. They highlighted the sacred nature of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque, spoke about the struggle of Palestinian people, emphasized the urgent need to shed light on the egregious war crimes faced by the Palestinian people. These gatherings were concluded with collective prayer for the people of Palestine.

Earlier, on October 13, the SIO conducted silent gatherings at key locations in the city, including to demonstrate unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

SIO Hyderabad condemned the flouting of international laws, unabated killings and the repeated violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa by the apartheid Israeli state. These actions are the primary catalysts behind the current escalation in the region.

The participants were of the view that genuine peace and justice can only prevail once Israel ceases its relentless aggression and persecution, putting an immediate end to its occupation and forced displacement in Palestine. SIO urged the global community to take decisive action and hold Israel accountable for the egregious crimes it has perpetrated against the Palestinian people.

“We call upon the international community to stand in solidarity with the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian people, who have been misrepresented and undermined by the media and the influential proponents of Israel. It is time for a unified global front to rise against these injustices,” the SIO said.
