The SIO had organised a couple of programmes last month in Hyderabad to show solidarity with Palestinians. Gatherings were held at different places in the city on October 22 with the participants raising their voice in support of the cause for “Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The gatherings, centered on the theme of raising awareness about the ongoing injustices in Palestine, included impactful addresses by key figures, including Dr MKM Zafar, Dr. Prof. Syed Islamuddin Mujahid, and Dr. Abdul Samad Al-Amoodi. They highlighted the sacred nature of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque, spoke about the struggle of Palestinian people, emphasized the urgent need to shed light on the egregious war crimes faced by the Palestinian people. These gatherings were concluded with collective prayer for the people of Palestine.
Earlier, on October 13, the SIO conducted silent gatherings at key locations in the city, including to demonstrate unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
SIO Hyderabad condemned the flouting of international laws, unabated killings and the repeated violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa by the apartheid Israeli state. These actions are the primary catalysts behind the current escalation in the region.
The participants were of the view that genuine peace and justice can only prevail once Israel ceases its relentless aggression and persecution, putting an immediate end to its occupation and forced displacement in Palestine. SIO urged the global community to take decisive action and hold Israel accountable for the egregious crimes it has perpetrated against the Palestinian people.
“We call upon the international community to stand in solidarity with the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian people, who have been misrepresented and undermined by the media and the influential proponents of Israel. It is time for a unified global front to rise against these injustices,” the SIO said.
