Aligarh: A workshop on Stress Management was conducted at the Senior Secondary School (Girls), AMU, on Tuesday, by counsellors from Manglayatan University, Aligarh, an AMU statement said today. The session aimed to equip students with effective strategies to manage stress and foster emotional well-being, particularly during their crucial academic phase.
The event began with a welcome address by Ms. Naghma Irfan, Principal of Senior Secondary School (Girls), who emphasised the importance of mental health awareness, especially for students preparing for board examinations.
The workshop was led by experts, including Professor Zaheeruddin (Former PVC, AMU), Dr. Kulsum Siddiqui, Assistant Professor at Manglayatan University, and Ms. Jayati Bhattacharya, Counsellor at Manglayatan University. They explored the root causes of stress, such as academic pressure and personal challenges, offering relatable examples and engaging discussions.
Key strategies shared included mindfulness techniques, time management, and the benefits of physical activity. An interactive Q&A session allowed students to address concerns like exam-related anxiety and balancing academics with personal life. The experts responded with practical tips and encouraging advice.
The workshop concluded on a positive note, with students expressing satisfied for the empowering tools provided to tackle challenges with resilience and calmness.
