Stalker on Bail Fatally Stabs 15-Year-Old Girl in Faridabad

Faridabad: A 15-year-old girl was brutally murdered by a 19-year-old stalker, who had previously been arrested for kidnapping her, at her neighbour’s residence in Dabua Colony, Faridabad, on Saturday. The accused, Pawan, attacked the girl with a knife, inflicting fatal injuries to her neck and face, before fleeing the scene, the police reportedly said.

According to authorities, the victim had gone to the house of her neighbour, Mamta, a domestic worker, when Mamta was not present. Neighbours spotted Pawan leaving the house with blood-stained clothes and discovered the girl lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to Civil Hospital but was declared dead on arrival, reports The Times of India.

The victim, who had dropped out of school, lived with her mother, a cloth trader. Inspector Manjeet Kumar of Dabua police station stated, “Pawan forced his way into the house and attacked the girl after a heated argument.”

This tragic incident follows Pawan’s earlier arrest in April 2024 for allegedly kidnapping the girl with the intention of marrying her. At that time, the girl’s mother had accused Pawan of luring her daughter away with the help of his friend, Shoaib. Pawan was charged under Sections 363 (kidnapping), 366-A (procuration of minor girl), and 34 (common intention) of the IPC. He was released on bail in September 2024, and the case remains under trial.

Following the murder, the victim’s mother alleged that Pawan, along with his family and associates, had been threatening her to withdraw the kidnapping case. A new FIR has been filed under sections of the IPC, including 302 (murder), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy), against Pawan, his younger brother, parents, a friend, and the friend’s mother.

However, the police noted that no prior complaints about threats had been filed. “We are investigating why the girl visited the domestic worker’s house when she wasn’t there and how Pawan arrived at the same time, said the police spokesperson.

The accused’s family, reportedly scrap dealers, claim Pawan is a student. Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him and uncover the motive behind the crime.

This horrifying incident has sparked outrage, raising concerns over the ease with which individuals accused of serious crimes obtain bail and subsequently commit graver offences.
