Jaipur, Jan. 31: Rajasthan State Committee and Jaipur District Committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) have strongly condemned BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya for his despicable attempt to create communal tension by entering a government school here, intimidating the teachers and students of the school and unnecessarily trying to create communal tension.
They said this so-called Baba MLA has been trying to stay in controversies constantly since his election. Earlier, he had also tried to intimidate minority shopkeepers of the city before taking the oath of office.
In a press statement, CPI(M) state secretary Comrade Amra Ram and Jaipur district secretary Dr. Sanjay Madhav, have appealed to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and the BJP-RSS leadership in the state to instruct their MLAs and ministers to refrain from spoiling the atmosphere of the state by giving air to unnecessary and controversial issues.
They said that it would be in the interest of the people of the state if they focus on the work for which the people have elected them. “People have elected them to solve the basic problems and serve the people, then the government should work, keeping in mind the interests of the people and avoid giving air to issues that harm communal harmony unnecessarily.”
CPI(M) believes that the condition of women and women’s education in the state is already not good. “In such a situation, such actions of ministers-MLAs giving air to issues selectively based on the ideology of their particular organization will spoil the atmosphere of the state and will also have a heavy impact on women’s education,” said the statement.
In a democracy, the elected state government needs to work with a broad, liberal and inclusive approach per the spirit of the Constitution of India, rather than being run by any vested narrow political interests.
CPI(M) has appealed to the people of the state, cautioning them, to be wary of the communal-casteist forces that are trying to gain political advantage by dividing the society and not to provide them with such opportunities so that these forces can succeed in provoking our emotions, fighting us among ourselves and distracting our attention from our basic problems. The CPI(M) state committee told the government that it should immediately rein in its leaders who are doing politics of communal polarization.
