Bengaluru: Various students’ bodies like Students Islamic Organisation of India, All India Students Association, COLLECTIVE Bangalore, and Students for People’s Democracy have appealed to all academic institutions across Karnataka to support the call of the Palestinian Campaign for Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel and desist from entering into new tie-ups with Israeli institutions and terminate existing collaborations with Israel and also boycott all Israeli state officials.
In a statement, the student organisations said that on their pressure the Innovative International Film Festival organisers cancelled the invitation to Israeli authorities and withdrew from collaborative ties with them. The organisers have uploaded a revised brochure on internet, removing Israel as a Country of Focus. The students’ bodies have lauded this decision.
