Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Aug 17: Andhra Pradesh’s minister for minority welfare N. Md. Farooq has said that the Haj Committee of India has started receiving applications online for Haj-2025.
Intending pilgrims can apply till September 9. He said that only online applications are being accepted. He urged the intending pilgrims from the state to make use of this opportunity and apply before the deadline.
Every applicant should have mission readable Indian international passport issued before the last date of submitting the applications and valid till January 15, 2026. There is no age limit for applicants. However, the journey for infants will not be free and they will be charged 10 percent of the airfare. Children above two years of age will be charged as adults.
Farooq also stated that a Muslim will be eligible for Haj pilgrimage through Haj Committee of India only once during his or her lifetime. Women without mehram will be allowed to travel as per the rules in a group of four or more women of 45 years of age or above. For each Haj cover, a minimum of one and a maximum of five adults and two children will be allowed.
Selected pilgrims will have to submit medical screening and fitness certificates. Pilgrims have to give two options of embarkation points in the order of preference. Pilgrims may be allowed a stay of 40-45 days.
Haj Committee of India has started ‘Haj Suvidha’ app from Haj-2024. Through this app, the Haj Committee has provided all the information with regard to scrutiny of application, details of the journey and provision of required facilities for pilgrimage.
The minister said that the online system is very helpful for the applicants. They may apply online on www.hajcommittee.gov.in or www.apstatehajcommittee.com. The government of Saudi Arabia has allotted a quota of 1,75,025 to India for Haj 2025.
