Jhansi: Suspended police inspector Mohit Yadav from Jhansi has announced his decision to renounce Hinduism, alleging caste-based discrimination and oppression. Accusing the system of exploiting him based on his caste, Yadav stated that he had been subjected to repeated harassment and unjust legal actions.
In a dramatic act, Yadav removed pictures of Hindu deities from his home, symbolizing his departure from the faith. He expressed frustration over his prayers going unheard and claimed that those who claim to uphold religion were the ones oppressing him.
“I have left Hinduism because it is a religion where caste-based discrimination prevails. For the past three months, I have been harassed, subjected to legal cases, and ultimately suspended, all because of my caste,” he declared.
He further alleged that powerful individuals belonging to a particular caste dominate the system and described them as having a “demonic mindset.” According to him, these individuals lack empathy and are responsible for the mistreatment of people from marginalized communities.
Yadav did not specify which religion he intends to adopt but stated that he would choose a faith that promotes love and compassion without caste discrimination.
His suspension followed an altercation with a Reserve Inspector (RI) at the Jhansi Police Lines. Investigations are underway regarding the disciplinary cases against him.
