Swami Lakshmi Shankaracharya Praises Teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a Guiding Light for Humanity

Hyderabad: Swami Lakshmi Shankaracharya emphasized that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are a model for all of humanity. Speaking at a symposium on “Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: The Benefactor of Humanity” on Saturday, Swami Shankaracharya highlighted the Prophet’s virtues of compassion, generosity, and his vision for unity among all people. He stated that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ guided humanity on the path of righteousness and truth, stressing that Islam spread not by force but through compassion and understanding.

Swami Shankaracharya noted that the Prophet’s teachings are not only for Muslims but serve as a universal guide for people of all faiths. He urged that the Prophet’s lessons should be promoted widely, as they offer valuable solutions to the challenges faced by society today.

The symposium was held at Hotel Ashoka, Lakdi-ka-Pul, and was attended by various scholars and community leaders. Swami Shankaracharya shared his personal transformation, explaining how he initially wrote a book opposing Islam, driven by misconceptions. However, after learning about Islam’s true teachings, he realized his mistake and wrote another book clarifying that Islam is a religion of peace and ethics.

Swami Shankaracharya expressed admiration for the efforts of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in building a moral society and highlighted the need for Muslims to implement these teachings in their daily lives. He pointed out that the misinterpretation of Islam arises due to the failure of its followers to live according to the Prophet’s teachings, which are rooted in peace and harmony.

The event also featured speeches from other notable figures, including Jamaat-e-Islami Hind State President Khalid Mubashir, who emphasized that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ offer solutions to the crises facing today’s world. He called for a wider campaign to introduce these teachings to Telugu-speaking people to address societal challenges.

Additionally, the symposium was attended by Telugu Catholic Bishop Council Secretary Kondaveeti Anantayya, Dr. Khalid Mubashir , President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Telangana, and Moulana Iqbal Mulla, former National Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, who all reiterated the importance of spreading the message of the Quran and the Prophet’s life to dispel misconceptions about Islam.
