Syed Sadatullah Husaini Calls for Participation in National History Conference 2026 to Highlight Muslim Contributions in India

New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Syed Sadatullah Husaini has called for wide participation in the upcoming National History Conference 2026, stressing the need to present the historical contributions of Muslims in India with clarity and evidence.

The two day conference organized by the India History Forum will be held on April 11 and 12 at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodhi Road. It will bring together historians, scholars, and public intellectuals to examine the role of Muslims in shaping India’s social, cultural, and intellectual life.

Addressing the gathering, Syed Sadatullah Husaini said that Muslims came to India as contributors and builders, not as colonisers. He stated that across different fields, Muslims played a strong role in the development of the country. Syed Sadatullah Husaini expressed concern that this history is being pushed out of public view. He said the current situation demands a clear presentation of facts based on research.

Syed Sadatullah Husaini explained that the conference will focus on documented contributions of Muslims in various sectors. Scholars will present research based findings to bring out historical realities. He added that such academic efforts are needed to correct misunderstandings and provide balanced perspectives.

The conference will be followed by an eight day exhibition. Organisers said the exhibition will offer a direct experience of history through displays and curated material. Visitors will get an opportunity to engage with documented contributions in a structured format.

Syed Sadatullah Husaini urged students, teachers, researchers, media persons, and intellectuals to attend the conference and exhibition. He called for wider outreach so that people across the country engage with the subject. He also appealed to those interested in justice and historical understanding to take part and support the initiative.

Organisers stated that the aim is to ensure that historical contributions are studied with evidence and shared with society in an informed manner. The event is expected to draw participation from across India.
