Symposium on AI Explores Challenges and Opportunities for Professionals

New Delhi recently hosted a symposium on “Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Opportunities for Professionals” in Jamia Nagar. AI experts and educators gathered to discuss the rapid evolution of AI technology and its far-reaching implications.

Dr. S. Kazim Naqvi, Additional Director at the FTK-Centre for Information Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia, highlighted the swift transformation of the job market due to AI, emphasizing the need for responsible use in professional environments. He cautioned that while AI offers significant benefits, it will also redefine the workforce faster than expected.

Sohaib Hussain, Senior Program Manager at Piramal Foundation, discussed the ethical opportunities professionals face when utilizing AI for societal welfare. He emphasized how technology can be shaped for the greater good, stressing the importance of balancing innovation with morality. His talk, titled “The Ethical Formation of Technology for Social Welfare,” resonated with attendees who are involved in various sectors influenced by AI.

Dr. Mohammad Rizwan, Director of the Centre for Study and Research in New Delhi, presented a thought-provoking session on the topic “Artificial Intelligence: A Boon or an Ethical Challenge for Society?” He argued that as AI technology continues to advance, it brings unprecedented risks, despite its proven capacity to benefit humanity in fields like security and healthcare.

The symposium was graced by Dr. Abdul Malik, former Joint Registrar of Jamia Millia Islamia, as the chief guest. The event commenced with a welcome address by Kamran Siddiqui, Secretary of the PII Forum, who introduced the forum’s goals and activities related to AI and its applications.

The program was convened by Suhail Ahmed, a motivational speaker and AI expert, who shared his insights on the importance of educating professionals about AI. In his closing remarks, Dr. Abdul Waheed, President of the PII Forum, expressed his gratitude to the speakers and participants. He also discussed the PII Forum’s initiatives during a conversation with NGTV, emphasizing their efforts in fostering AI knowledge and addressing its impacts on society.

The symposium provided an engaging platform for professionals to explore the complexities of AI, particularly its ethical considerations and the need for strategic, thoughtful implementation in various industries.
