Tahreek Muslim Shabban to Host Round Table on Waqf, Welfare and Political Representation in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Tahreek Muslim Shabban will organise a round table conference on Sunday, September 6, to deliberate on key issues affecting Muslims in Telangana, including Waqf property management, minority welfare institutions and political representation.

The conference will be held at Media Plus, Nizamia Complex, Abids, at 2 pm. Tahreek Muslim Shabban president Mohammed Mushtaq Mallik will preside over the proceedings. Ulema, Mashaikheen, intellectuals, representatives of religious and community organisations and social activists are expected to attend.

The event comes amid growing debate within the community over their status in the state, the functioning of minority institutions and the quality of political leadership representing Muslim interests.

Waqf-related concerns form a central part of the agenda. Discussions will cover the status of properties under litigation or alleged encroachment, legal safeguards for valuable assets, disclosure of income and expenditure, and the need for stronger institutional oversight.

Participants will also examine whether minority welfare institutions are delivering measurable results in education, employment, self-employment, skill development and economic assistance to the community.

Political representation is another item on the agenda. Discussions will focus on the need for experienced and accessible leadership capable of effectively raising community concerns with the government and other decision-making bodies.

Mushtaq Mallik said the round table was intended to provide a platform for a broad cross-section of community representatives to exchange views and suggest practical measures on issues affecting Muslims in Telangana.

There is also broader concern within the community over access to government welfare schemes and transparency in the administration of minority institutions.
