Al-Qazi Urdu Academy Honours Meritorious Urdu Students with Awards
Muzaffarnagar: A written competition for Urdu students, both boys and girls, was organised in Kalyanpur village of Muzaffarnagar, in which 10 outstanding students were honoured with valuable prizes. The programme was jointly organised by the World Urdu Day Organising Committee, New Delhi, and Al-Qazi Urdu Academy.
Senior journalist Masoom Moradabadi attended the event as the chief guest, while Dr. Ilyas Mazhar was present as the guest of honour, and noted social media personality Sohail Numberdar also participated. The programme was presided over by Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, who said that their aim was to promote Urdu education and to make the younger generation, who are gradually drifting away from it, aware of the importance of Urdu learning and teaching. He further noted that the strong performance of girl students in the competition was a welcome development and would greatly help in the promotion of Urdu as a mother tongue.
Encouraging the meritorious Urdu students, Masoom Moradabadi said that children who are educated in Urdu develop refinement in their speech and expression and also become familiar with their history and culture. He stressed that there is a pressing need to take Urdu education to every household and to encourage students who demonstrate excellence.
On the occasion, Advocate Shah Jabeen Qazi, Chairperson of Al-Qazi Urdu Academy, presented attractive gifts and shields to the talented students and said that the academy’s primary objective is to encourage students who study Urdu so that other students may also be inspired. For this purpose, remote towns and villages, where welfare organisations generally do not reach, have been selected.
The students who were awarded prizes included Nighat Parveen, Chahat Chaudhary, Saima Begum, Sehani Begum, Iqra Chaudhary, Samiya, Sana, Man Tasha, and Zeeshan.
The programme was organised with the cooperation of Nawab Memorial Public School, Kalyanpur. Notable contributions to the success of the event were made by Ms. Khushi, Hina, Adeeba, as well as Ameeq Chaudhary, Momina Chaudhary, Arshi, Noreen, Anam Chaudhary, and others.
