In the midst of ongoing controversy around Yati Narsinghanand’s blasphemous remarks against Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Ittehad-e-Millat Council president Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan has announced to hold a big demonstration at Delhi’s Ramlila Ground soon.
On the 24th Foundation Day of IMC, Tauqeer Raza Khan told reporters, “People like Narsinghanand are insulting the Prophet but no action is being taken against him. After the Dussehra fair, the whole country will come out on the streets of Delhi and there will be a huge demonstration at Ramlila Maidan. Not only people from Bareilly but from the entire country will participate in it.”
Maulana Raza also said Delhi will be completely jammed for a day so that the government listens to them. Their protest will be to protect the Constitution of the country and the honor of the tricolor. He clarified that some forces are trying to provoke Muslim youth, but the purpose of their protest is to protect peace and the Constitution.
Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maulana Raza questioned whether Modi is the Prime Minister of only Sanatani people. He said PM Modi has proved that he is only the representative of Sanatan Dharma and is ignoring non-Hindu communities.
“Two types of laws are running in the country – one for common citizens and the other for Muslims,” he added.
Maulana Raza’s statement is going to stir the political and communal atmosphere of the country. Now it remains to be seen what form his proposed demonstration in Delhi takes and how the government reacts to it.
