Tejashwi Yadav Counters Modi and Nitish on Family Size Remarks

23 Apr. 24

Amidst recent remarks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar regarding family sizes, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav responded by highlighting prominent figures who came from large families. Yadav aimed to shift the conversation away from discussions about the number of children people have, which Modi hinted at in relation to Muslims, and Kumar directed towards the Lalu family.

Speaking in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav mentioned several notable personalities to emphasize that successful leaders often emerged from families with many siblings or children. For instance, he noted that Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of India’s Constitution, had 14 siblings. Similarly, freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose, former President V.V. Giri, and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also came from families with numerous siblings or children.

In addition to these historical examples, Yadav highlighted the family sizes of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (five siblings), Prime Minister Narendra Modi (two siblings), and Modi’s father Damodar Das ji (seven siblings). This information was presented to counter the narrative around family demographics in political discourse.

Furthermore, Tejashwi Yadav urged Prime Minister Modi to focus on real issues affecting the people of India. He appealed to Modi with folded hands, requesting him to cease engaging in divisive politics and instead address critical concerns such as poverty, unemployment, inflation, and the struggling economy. Yadav emphasized that these issues unite the youth, elders, businessmen, farmers, mothers, and sisters of the country, stressing the urgent need for tangible solutions.

Yadav’s plea underscores the necessity for substantive dialogue and meaningful action to address the challenges faced by the nation. He called upon the Prime Minister to articulate his vision for the State of Bihar and India at large, and provide a comprehensive account of his government’s achievements and plans over the past decade.

In summary, Tejashwi Yadav’s response presents a broader perspective on the political discourse, urging leaders to prioritize genuine issues and engage in constructive dialogue for the betterment of the country.
