Telangana: 15-Year-Old Muslim Girl Killed While Defending Father from Mob Attack

In a heart-wrenching incident, 15-year-old Aliya Begum lost her life while attempting to shield her father, Mohammad Ismail, from a violent mob attack in Telangana’s Antharam village, Zaheerabad.
The attack took place on February 11, when Ismail was assaulted by a group of at least 40 men after being caught urinating near homes belonging to Veera Reddy and Vijay Reddy. As Aliya rushed to defend her father, she was brutally attacked with stones. Despite battling for her life for three days, she succumbed to her injuries on February 15.
The shocking incident has left the village in deep anguish, with growing demands for swift and severe action against the perpetrators. MLA Kausar Mohiuddin, who visited the grieving family, condemned the attack as a targeted assault on the Muslim community.
Amjadullah Khan of Majlis Bachao Tehreek has called for a judicial inquiry led by a High Court judge, the immediate arrest of all accused, ₹25 lakh compensation for the family, a government job, and a house under the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
Meanwhile, the police have filed a case against the Reddy brothers and other suspects after members of the All India Milli Council, including Adv. Afsar Jahan and Adv. Sujaath, met the Superintendent of Police in Sangareddy. The legal team has also coordinated with Public Prosecutor Lateef ur Rahman to prevent the accused from securing bail.
The tragedy has sparked outrage on social media, with many questioning the growing incidents of violence against Muslims in India.
