Telangana Jagruthi to Champion Minority Rights, Says Kavitha

Hyderabad: BRS MLC K. Kavitha on Saturday inaugurated the newly established office of Telangana Jagruthi near her residence in Banjara Hills. She emphasized the organization’s role in championing the rights of minorities and marginalized communities, vowing to intensify its activities across Telangana, reported the Times of India.
Kavitha, who has been actively restructuring Telangana Jagruthi by appointing fresh committees and coordinators, described the organisation as the “second eye” of BRS, complementing the leadership of her father, party chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR). She announced a massive maha dharna protest to be held on June 4 at Indira Park, condemning the notices served to KCR, calling them an insult to the people of Telangana.
Highlighting KCR’s contributions to the state, especially the Kaleshwaram project aimed at securing 200 TMC of Godavari water for Telangana, Kavitha accused the investigation commission of acting on Congress’s directives. “The people of Telangana are deeply hurt by these politically motivated actions,” she said.
Kavitha further stated that the state’s very existence as a separate entity was the result of KCR’s visionary leadership. She criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, asserting that only now he has begun acknowledging the sacrifices of Telangana martyrs. “Anyone who fails to salute the martyrs has no moral right to sit in the CM’s chair,” she said.
She also slammed the BJP-led central government for stalling the BC Reservation Bills passed by the Telangana Assembly and Council. Kavitha pointed out that Telangana Jagruthi has been advocating for the implementation of these bills for more than a year and a half.
In a significant declaration, she announced that Telangana Jagruthi would fight for the rights of minorities, including Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians. The organisation plans to form dedicated wings for these communities, along with SC and ST wings, to strengthen the struggle for justice and equality.
