Telangana Announces New Welfare Schemes for Minority Communities

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has rolled out two new welfare initiatives aimed at supporting minority communities in the state. The schemes were launched by Minister for SC, ST, and Minority Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar.

The first program, Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana, provides financial assistance of ₹50,000 to widows, divorcees, orphans, and unmarried women. The government intends this support to help women start small businesses and work toward economic independence. Registrations are open from September 19 to October 6, 2025, through the official state portal.

The second initiative, “Revanthanna Ka Sahara – For the Miskeens,” focuses on the Fakir and Dudekula communities. It offers mopeds along with a grant of ₹1 lakh to eligible individuals. The scheme aims to improve mobility and create sustainable income opportunities for disadvantaged groups.

The state government has allocated ₹30 crore for both programs. According to Minister Laxman Kumar, the initiatives are designed to build long-term economic opportunities for marginalized sections. He stated that the simple registration process is meant to ensure maximum participation.

Officials have urged eligible citizens to apply within the registration period to secure the benefits. With targeted financial aid and mobility support, the government aims to encourage entrepreneurship among women and uplift minority groups who face significant economic challenges.

These measures reflect Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s stated commitment to minority welfare and inclusive growth in Telangana.
