Telangana on the Path of Peace: Victory over Hatred, Foundation for Development

– Mujahid Md.

Telangana has always been a symbol of Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb (communal harmony). It is a welcome development that the government is taking steps with the specific goal of preserving this heritage.

The recent meeting between Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Advisor to the Minority Welfare Department, and Mohammed Azharuddin, State President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, was not merely a courtesy call. It serves as a strong warning to forces of hatred. During this cordial meeting, Mohammed Azharuddin presented the Jamaat’s New Year diary to Shabbir Ali. In turn, Shabbir Ali honoured Azharuddin with a shawl and a bouquet, demonstrating heartfelt respect.

At a time when divisive politics and hate speech are weakening the foundations of society, the government’s resolve to introduce strict laws provides reassurance for the future of Telangana. The responsibility to thwart attempts to incite conflict among people, using emotional issues like ‘Vandemataram’ as a pretext, rests not only with the government but with every citizen.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the goal of providing equal opportunities to every caste, religion, and community serves as a guiding light for the state. True social justice is achieved only when welfare schemes reach all eligible individuals and a sense of security increases within society.

There can be no prosperity where there is no peace. With the government’s firm resolve and the cooperation of social organisations, Telangana will stand as an exemplary “Island of Peace” for the rest of India.
