New Delhi: In a lecture titled “The Middle East’s Expanding War and Future Prospects” held at the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind headquarters, Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi, Editor of Media Star World, declared that the dream of a ‘Greater Israel’ is ending, and the U.S. and Western dominance has weakened considerably.
Kazmi cited stark figures, noting official reports claim over 42,000 deaths, while a recent Lancet publication estimated as high as 186,000 fatalities – potentially nearing 200,000 casualties.
“The killing of children, women, and the elderly raises serious moral questions globally and reveals unprecedented insensitivity towards civilians,” he said.
Kazmi argued that the October 7 attack exposed Israel’s military limitations. “The idea of Israel as invincible has been shattered; despite substantial U.S. and Western support, Israel has not been able to secure the release of hostages from Palestine,” he observed.
He praised the resilience and educational awareness of Palestine’s younger generation, which he described as more informed than in many neighbouring Arab nations.
He urged the Muslim world to transcend sectarianism, cautioning, “Until we overcome these divisions, we will remain vulnerable. Palestinians have refused to accept defeat, and their struggle for freedom will continue, ultimately leading to a free Palestine. Today, Israel finds itself surrounded rather than just surrounding Gaza.”
Kazmi further linked Israel’s weakening stance to the rise of Iran’s Islamic revolution, which he views as a significant factor in the decline of U.S. and Israeli influence. He recalled advice from Iran’s current leader to be wary of divisive tactics by Western intelligence agencies, such as CIA and MI6, which seek to divide Sunnis and Shias.
“Understanding these conspiracies and identifying internal and external threats is key to resolving many challenges facing the Muslim world,” Kazmi emphasized.
Presiding over the event, Professor Salim Engineer, JIH Vice President, pointed out that while the current conflict appears to be between Israel and Palestine, it is fundamentally driven by American interests.
“If the U.S. chose to end this war, Israel would lack the strength to continue,” he said.
He argued that Israel functions as the “51st state of America,” serving as a base to destabilise the Muslim world and secure control over natural resources.
He concluded, “I believe that Palestine will follow the path of Afghanistan, and that the ongoing conflict could lead to America’s eventual decline, much like the fall of the USSR.”
